Product Description
Make-up bag / Purse
Who wouldn’t want a purse made out of jungle? Hand woven by remote communities in Northern Laos using vines from the surrounding jungle. The cotton lining is also handwoven using sustainable organic cotton. Traditionally this material would have been used for making bags and other functional, everyday items. This a wonderful combination of traditional skill and contemporary functionality.

TAEC Laos
The Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre (TAEC) was opened by Thongkoun Soutthivillay and Tara Gujadhur in Luangprabang, Laos, in 2007. Rural communities in Laos are very poor but have inherited traditional skills which utilise their environment. The founders of TAEC realised they could help these communities supplement their income by marketing their products to a global audience. Using sustainable resources and traditional methods they create wonderfully simple yet beautiful products.
