Product Description
Handwoven in Northern Laos using traditional silk weaving techniques, but applied to cotton! The cotton is grown and spun in the village where the artisans weave. The deep blue colour comes from indigo. The cotton is dyed using ‘ikat’ or resist dyeing techniques in which the cotton is tightly bound in sections, creating a striped thread which is then woven into the shawl to create a beautiful pattern. Hardwearing and the polar opposite of mass produced fabric this shawl is a piece of wearable art
