Zhoucheng is a village located just north of Dali in Yunnan. It’s main claim to fame is that it is the hub of Bai tie-dye manufacture. As you enter Zhoucheng, shop line the main road festooned with gaudily coloured, hand made tie-dye which is also available in markets throughout the area. As you wander the backstreets, you can peek into family homes where people are busily dyeing and drying their unique patterns. But it is at heart a rural society and farming life goes on, as evidenced in this image of man and beast working together!
