Luxury silk scarves
This scarf was handwoven in North Eastern Laos. The pattern is an iconic and well recognised pattern in Laos as a symbol of responsibility and Lao hospitality. Ordinarily it has fewer contrasting colours than other Laos patterns but is incredibly intricate and beautiful. All dyes used are 100% natural and the silk is as soft and delicate as any you will find in Laos.
Dry clean only.
Mulberries is the most recent brainchild of the wonderful Kommaly Chanthavong and her daughter Boby. Kommaly started her first enterprise, Photong crafts in 1976. It has always been her philosophy to preserve Lao handicrafts whilst offering employment to marginalised rural women. Each scarf woven at Mulberries benefits at least 25 families as all processes are completed by hand using traditional techniques. All silk used is produced and dyed on the farm in Xieng Khouang. All dyes are 100% natural.
