Fair Trade Chinese PuErh Tea – Loose Leaf
A robust and heavily flavoured, fermented tea from Menghai in Yunnan, China. A true speciality of the region, our PuErh tea is sourced from our friends at the IMO certified T-project.
Rinse one tablespoon of tea in freshly boiled water, discard water and then infuse with fresh water for 1-2 minutes and enjoy.
Origins of PuErh Tea
PuErh tea is a speciality of Yunnan and is prized in China and worldwide for its medicinal, anti-oxidising properties. The tea is harvested, withered, rolled and heated before being dried and fermented. Historically Pu’Erh is compressed into bricks for ease of transportation by horseback but ours is left loose to allow you to brew it more easily. It is made from broader leaved tea plants found only in this region of China.
